When you open the app, it grabs your live GPS location and drops you on the map. You can use everything as a guest — building routes, navigating, and searching — but sign in from the Profile tab to save your logbook and routes. If location doesn't load automatically, tap the crosshair button next to the search bar to refresh it.
2
Building a Route
Tap "Build Loop Route" on the map screen to open the wizard. Pick which road types you want to practice (residential, main roads, roundabouts, etc.), set how much of each, then choose your radius and target duration. Hit Generate and the app creates three loop routes starting and ending at your location. Swipe through them in the carousel to compare, or tap "+ New" to generate more.
3
Adding Waypoints & Landmarks
Search an address in the search bar and tap "+ Waypoint" to include it in your loop. You can also tap anywhere on the map to drop a waypoint. Once a route is generated, landmarks like petrol stations, roundabouts, parking lots, and traffic lights appear within 500m — tap any of them and hit "Route via here" to extend your route through that spot.
4
Driving with Navigation
Tap "Start Drive" to begin turn-by-turn navigation. The app shows your current speed, next turn direction, remaining distance, and ETA. Your GPS marker moves smoothly along the route, and if you go off-course it automatically recalculates. When you arrive, it prompts you to log the drive. For beta testing, use the Google Maps export button — it opens your route in Google Maps for reliable turn-by-turn nav.
5
Logging & Tracking Hours
The Logbook tab tracks your day and night hours against the NSW 120-hour requirement. Every drive can be logged manually or auto-filled after navigation — including distance in kilometres. Tap the edit button on any entry to update it. The Profile tab shows your total stats and lets you export your logbook.

Use Google Maps?
For the most reliable turn-by-turn navigation, we recommend opening this route in Google Maps.
The in-app navigator still works, but GPS accuracy and voice guidance are better in Google Maps.
